MORE than 360 riders tackled the inaugural Wild Boar Chase last Sunday.
Starting and finishing at Speech House, the mountain bike event offered riders of all abilities the chance to test themselves around Forest trails and parts of the Wye Valley.
The Full Boar course covered a distance of 43 miles, while the Wye Boar ride was seven miles shorter.
The Forest Boar (25 miles) avoided the 18-mile Wye Valley stretch, while the Small Boar (18 miles) was a family friendly trek around Cannop.
There were some fast times. Andrew Perkins (2hrs 16mins 2secs) was quickest over the Full Boar course, with Rob Morgan (2:31.19), Alvin Nicholas (2:31.56) and Gary Lee (2:33.13) also recording fine times.
Kevin Bayliss completed the Forest Boar in 2:05.01.
Next best were: Steve Davies (2:07.59), Neil Cubberley (2:08.24), Clark Price (2:10.03), James Cunliffe (2:10.18) and Mark Stephens (2:26.52).
Steve Bamber rode the Small Boar in 1:51.17.
Ian Taylor (1:52.49), Richard Taylor (1:53.25), Emlyn James (1:53.34) and Mike Jewell (1:53.46) chased him home over the shorter distance.
There were some notable rides from the girls too, with Victoria Baker finishing the Forest Boar in 2:35.55.
Jen Raison rode the Full Boar in 3:10.30.
