SUPER-FIT pensioner Syd Wheeler is tackling his 200th marathon in London this Sunday. It's also his 25th London Marathon.

The man they call 'Automan' because he runs every mile at exactly the same pace, says he has no intention of giving up the sport.

"My ambition is to become the oldest man to run a marathon," said the amazing 75-year-old.

He's got some way to go to beat Indian Fauja Singh, who was still running marathons at 101.

Syd, from Mork near St Briavels, ran his first marathon in 1983 at the age of 45.

He will get to line-up with the celebrities at the start of this year's London Marathon, but says he doesn't expect to know many of them because 'he doesn't watch soaps'.

His quickest time is 2hrs 59mins but nowadays he completes the 26.2 miles in around five hours.
