National League One
Old Albanians 28
Cinderford 25
CINDERFORD let the chance of a rare away victory slip from their grasp in their first ever visit to National One newcomers Old Albanians.
The visitors led 25-18 with just 10 minutes to go. Albanians were also reduced to 14 men when second-row Lloyd Bickle got a yellow card for a shoulder charge on Sam Arnott.
However, Stefan Liebenberg slid over for his second try of the afternoon, with Gregg's conversion levelling the scores.
Albanians continued to pound the Cinderford line and an injury-time drop-goal from Gregg left Cinderford with nothing but a bonus point.
Albanians opened the scoring with an unconverted try from winger Chris May, but Cinderford hit back when Nev Codlin broke through a couple of tackles to go over in the corner.
Mark Davies landed a drop-goal for Cinderford, but the hosts took a 15-8 lead into the break with a try from Liebenberg and a conversion and a penalty from Lawrence Rayner.
Ten minutes into the second half Rayner put over his second penalty to stretch the lead, but for the next 20 minutes it was all Cinderford.
Hooker Tom Bozzard scored a try after a series of pick-and-drives close to the home line, with Davies converting.
Davies made it 18-18 with a penalty, then he converted an interception try from sub Rob Winchle, who did well to evade two tackles.
