MORE WAR PROPAGANDA.

We’ve heard it all before. Putin is facing a mutiny and dying of cancer/Parkinsons/dementia. Russia is running out of weapons/facing battlefield destruction. People must be kept ‘onside’ with fictitious tales of victory. It’s what military strategists call ‘information war’ - from Orwell’s Ministry of Truth.

Consider this. Will the war Britain so longs for be fought by British troops within Ukraine – or with missiles and drones within the UK?

‘We’ are sending cruise missiles that are guided by US satellites onto targets deep within Russia.

How would we respond if Russia gave advanced missiles to an ally to launch into the UK?

Just reflect on reality. Russia has conventional hypersonic ballistic missiles capable of precise targeting. Britain has no defence against them. It relies on its nuclear deterrence as ‘protection’ against attack. All we could do is respond with nuclear missiles, with the inevitable nuclear response. It’s so 1970’s!

It’s MAD because Russia now has the most sophisticated missile defence system in the world – the S500 capable of intercepting hypersonic nuclear missiles and a comprehensive system of deep blast-proof nuclear shelters. The UK admits to virtually no air defence and only minimum shelter space for key politicians, civil servants and ‘important’ Royalty. The Corgis are excluded!

Meanwhile the devastation being inflicted on Ukraine, unreported in ‘the west’, is much more than that inflicted on Russia. The facts on the ground are clear. Russia is about to take two more key towns in the Donbas – Kostyantynivka and Liman. The panicky Ukrainian response has been to attack Russian energy supplies and soft civilian targets to spread terror. 21 female teacher training students were recently obliterated.

Europe is being sucked into a war that is strangling it. Huge resources have been spent on Ukraine while stagnation accompanies most European economies. Since 2022 Britain has had 4 Prime Ministers who have spent £21.8 billions on war with no real scrutiny in the media about it.

Experienced ex-senior civil servants want negotiations – such as Alistair Crook, ex Foreign Office diplomat, former MI6 and one-time Chief EU Advisor on the Middle East, and Ian Proud former Moscow Foreign Office diplomat responsible for imposing the economic sanctions on Russia. He knew they were just for show.

They both know that the expansion of NATO is at the heart of this conflict and stress the need for diplomacy to resolve it. Their views are not considered.

Starmer’s ignominious rejection saw no media reflection at all over his ‘Never Here, Kier’ globetrotting for Ukraine or with his nauseating ‘hugs for Zelenskyy’ performances. It despised him for almost everything else but praised him for the war because it is tutored by the ‘Defence and Security Media Advisory committee’ who ‘advise’ them what to write ‘in the interests of national security’. Expect much more of this.

Andy Burnham must resist calls to be turned into yet another cartoon Winston Churchill war hero and pay much more attention to domestic Britain.

It’s just crazy public-schoolboy warmongering – and it puts us all in danger.
