YORKLEY top the league following their eight wicket victory over Bream.

Electing to bat first, Bream were bowled out for a below par 80 with only Tom Ross (31) getting to grips with the bowling.

Ed Stubbs took 3-16, Mark Moodie 2-12, Tom Worgan 2-15 and Ben Homer 2-21.

Yorkley lost opener Mike Bailey for a duck, bowled by Rupert Mitchell, but Ben Homer 38 not out steered Yorkley home, supported by Liam Hurcombe (26) and Dan Edmunds (12 not out).

Rupert Mitchell bowled a superb spell of 2-9 from eight overs.

Twyning's total of 200-4 against Lydney III was underpinned by Martin Teale, who carried his bat for 97.

Jack O'Connell took 1-21 and Andrew Davis 1-26 from eight over spells.

Callum Miller (1-32) and Rhys Evans (1-40) were the other wicket-takers.

Lydney's reply started well with Jordan Stone (13) and Jack O'Connell (21) pushing the score along to 37-1 off nine overs.

A middle order collapse left the innings in tatters at 47-7, but Andrew Davis dug in to score 29 not out, receiving good support from Corey Notley-Barnard and Callum Miller. Both scored 17 to bump the total up to 118-9.

It was slow going for Newent III against Penallt & Redbrook as they batted their full 40 overs to score 95-9.

Richard Perks made 20 and John Gare 19, but the bowling of Gwyn Jones (4-15), Sam Phillips (2-12) and Jeff Eaves (2-12) dominated.

Penallt needed only 16 overs to score 99-2 with both Keith Powles and Simon Owens making 44 not out.

Eldersfield won a close game with Charlton Kings III by four runs.

James Bullock hit 47 in Eldersfield's 195-9. Kings fell just short on 191-7 after 40 overs.
