A CAMPAIGNING driving instructor – determined to lower the number of deaths on Forest roads – believes the poor attitudes of drivers is still the main cause of most accidents.

Mike Webb, a leading force in the Time and Place campaign, said: "The main problem is the driver, the person behind the wheel.

"Until we change attitudes we won't get anywhere.

"As a driving instructor, you are tasked with teaching somebody who's 17 to drive in the shortest time possible, say six months. How can anyone get to know real road safety issues in six months?"
