'We were like refugees on our own driveway'

TEENAGE burglar Daniel Knight turned a couple's home into a bloodbath after cutting himself as he broke in.

Horrified John and Bridgette Izzard arrived home to find Knight still in their house and bleeding profusely.

Carpets, furniture and clothing were soaked with blood and the house was uninhabitable – especially as it was feared that 18-year-old Knight had infectious Hepatitis B.

A police forensics officer called to the house told the couple he had never seen so much blood at the scene of any crime.
