A 63 year-old Viney Hill woman who admitted being in charge of a car while more than three times over the drink-drive limit has avoided a driving ban at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court.

Suzanne Pilling of Sandy Mount, Viney Hill, had 10 penalty points endorsed on her licence and was ordered to pay fines, costs and a surcharge totalling £281 but she was not disqualified.

She admitted that on July  5 this year she had 115micrograms (mcgs) of alcohol on her breath while in charge of a Kia Picanto on the A48 at the junction with Lensbrook Rd, Blakeney. 

The legal limit for a driver is 35mcgs.
