VILLAGERS have come forward at the 11th hour to save vital community facilities in Coalway.

The village was in danger of losing its football ground, community centre, play park and car park because nobody was prepared to take on the responsibility.

But after scout leader David Barrell called a second crisis meeting enough people volunteered to save them.

Now villagers are looking into widening a covenant which says only those living within a mile of the community facilities can serve on the committee.
