A MAN walks into a pub and...
A standard opening of any old joke but, in the curious case of the Forest of Dean plaque, it is actually the truth.
One Sunday started out like any other week for the staff at the White Hart pub in Broadoak. They were getting prepared to make their Sunday roasts and serve their customers.
The pub filled up and the staff were busy keeping everyone happy.
Until, like the Man With No Name from the spaghetti westerns, a stranger comes into town – or in this case, walks from the car park off the A48.
Into the doors of the White Hart he came bearing something heavy in his hands.
He was greeted by the staff – but then the mystery, straight out of the strangest novel you could think of, came to light.
Lisa Haisman was working behind the bar and said: “It was about lunchtime. We were quite busy and we had a lot of people at the bar waiting."
