PARENTS of Jamie Harding who suffered a stroke at school have attacked officials for demanding they give their car keys back.

They say officials have told them the 14-year-old has recovered so well over the last two years he no longer qualifies for the Motability scheme to help disabled people get out and about.

But his stunned parents say the officials reviewing his case consulted classroom assistants rather than doctors before coming to the decision.

And the Lydney couple say the schoolboy still needs the car to get to and from school and numerous hospital appointments.

Dad Adrian says Jamie even has a medical appointment in Gloucester on the very day his family are supposed to hand in the keys to the family Vauxhall on Tuesday.
