Teenager Stuart Lee, accused of stealing deadly acid and cyanide and making a nailbomb, has been dubbed 'The Terrorist' by fellow inmates in his remand prison, a judge was told.
Blond Stuart Lee, of West View Cottage, School Road, Pillowell, made a brief appearance before Cheltenham Magistrates' Court facing two charges of burglary, one of making a nail bomb and another of being in possession of hydrochloric and sulphuric acid and potassium cyanide.
Lee, who wore a blue Adidas T-shirt and has both arms heavily tattooed, did not enter pleas to the charges.
District judge Martin Brown committed him in custody to appear at Gloucester Crown Court on October 3.
His solicitor David Brown's application for bail was rejected by the judge.
Lee is accused of burgling Creative Forest Food on September 11 and stealing a computer monitor and other property worth a total of £100.
He is also accused of burglary of Whitecroft Essentials Ltd and theft of hydrochloric acid, sulphuric acid and cyanide granules worth a total of £200.
He is further charged with making an explosive substance, a nail bomb, at Lydney on July 14.
And he is finally charged that between September 10 and 13 he knowingly had in his possession or under his control hydrochloric and sulphuric acids, giving rise to a reasonable suspicion that it was not for a lawful objective.
District judge Brown said the charges were so serious they had to be tried in the crown court and the explosives charges had to be approved by the Attorney General.
Peter Ashby, prosecuting, said he understood the defendant's father is supporting his bid for bail pending trial and is willing to offer him accommodation under a 24-hour curfew.
