AFTER a number of protester arrests and an extension to the original period, the badger cull in Gloucestershire has being called off because experts have not been able to kill enough of the animals to meet targets.
The original six-week trial was extended by another eight weeks, which was due to end on December 18. Farming minister George Eustice said the extension had been 'worthwhile'.
It is not yet known how many badgers have been killed during the extension period.
