FOREST residents are being encouraged to support local wildlife by composting at home during Gloucestershire Biodiversity Week, which runs from Thursday, May 22 to Saturday, May 31.

This year’s campaign focuses on soil health, with simple steps like composting promoted as a way to boost biodiversity in gardens and green spaces.

David Owen, director of economy and environment at Gloucestershire County Council, said the week was “a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of soil health and encourage simple actions that support nature”.

Residents can find details of local events and advice on getting started with composting by visiting the Gloucestershire County Council website or searching online for ‘Gloucestershire Biodiversity Week’.
