National League One
Cinderford 32
Tynedale 5
CINDERFORD'S welcome resurgence in form continued with this tremendous bonus point victory at a blustery Dockham Road.
The home side had the wind with them in the first period and gained an early 6-0 lead through two Danny Trigg penalties.
Shell-shocked Tynedale had Visser yellow carded for foul play in the 15th minute and the home side took full advantage.
The first try of the match followed some terrible play from Tynedale's Alan Rogers, who threw a blind pass with no one outside him.
Winger Nevaro Codlin kicked ahead before gathering up the loose ball and outpacing the defence to bring the crowd to its feet. Trigg knocked over the conversion.
Cinderford went even further ahead on 26 minutes when the visitors conceded a penalty-try for deliberately wheeling a creaking 5m scrum. Trigg's conversion made it 20-0 at the interval.
Tynedale, as expected, started the second-half in determined fashion. They were rewarded for a long spell of pressure with an unconverted try in the corner from prop Matthew Shields.
Cinderford – who had Chris Bundy sin-binned on 48 minutes for technical offences – responded with a sweeping move that almost brought a try for second-row Mark Rimmer.
They kept up the pressure and outstanding number eight Adam Nicholls got the ball down as the Tynedale scrum was once again driven back over its own line. Trigg converted.
The bonus point was secured when man of the match Paul Price went over from a well executed line-out catch-and-drive.
