TEENAGER Charlotte Morgan has become the Forest's youngest councillor after deciding to follow in the family footsteps.
The 18-year-old who has just finished her A-levels has been co-opted onto Coleford Town Council.
Charlotte's grandfather Maurice was the town's first mayor and her mother Janine already sits on the town council.
But Charlotte, who is hoping to study Ancient Egyptology at Swansea University, wants to make sure young people are heard.
Charlotte attended St John's C of E Primary, Lakers School and the Forest campus of Gloucestershire College.
"I feel this has put me in good stead to be able to represent the views of young people in Coleford and the surrounding area," she told councillors.
She wants to set up a youth council.
"This is not only needed to represent youths, but to encourage involvement of young people in local governments and politics," she said.
Mum Janine said she was proud when councillors said they would be delighted to welcome the teenager on board.
"She helped out at the Sealed Knot event and decided she wanted to be more involved," said Janine.
Charlotte who is celebrating the end of her exams is looking forward to making a positive difference in the community.
