A THANK you note said to be written by the producers of the latest Star Wars film finally confirms that the movie was shot in the Dean.

The letter, written to mark the final day of shooting of Episode VII, was sent to the film's cast and crew members and thanked them for their 'professionalism, passion and patience' and for working 'from the deserts of Abu Dhabi, to the Forest of Dean, to the stages of Pinewood' .

It was back in July that a fleet of vehicles involved in film production parked up in the Puzzlewood area of Coleford, but despite rumours circulating locally, nationally and internationally, no one from the film company would confirm it was for the latest Star Wars movie.

The letter from JJ Abrams films goes on to say that 'Our ambition here is large, of course, and it must be: we are here to make a film that entertains millions of people, of all ages, for generations'.
