A 62-year-old St Briavels man has been ordered to pay more than £500 in fines, costs and surcharges and has had six penalty points endorsed on his driving licence for speeding in Lydney.

Anthony Cooke of Great Dunkilns Farm, St Briavels, admitted at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court that he drove a Nissan E-NV200 on the B4231 Bream Road in excess of the 30mph limit on  August 31 last year.

He was fined £305 plus £90 costs and a £122 victim services surcharge and given until May 2 to pay the total due of £517.
