Site of community hospital is revealed

PLANS for a new community hospital in the Forest of Dean have progressed significantly this week following an announcement that a site has been identified in Cinderford.

In an official announcement on Thursday afternoon (October 17), the Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust said they were “delighted” that a site has been identified in Steam Mills Road, Cinderford, for the new £11m facility.

The Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS foundation Trust has been working with Cinderford Town Council for the past year to identify a site after the town was recommended as a suitable location by a Citizens’ Jury last August.
