Cinderford Town 1
Abingdon United 2
CINDERFORD slipped to a surprising home defeat to lowly Abingdon, having created more than enough chances to win the game.
Abingdon went into this game having failed to score a goal in their previous four matches.
Josh Egan and Dean Lee combined to set up Matt Barnes for an early chance, then Egan had an effort superbly saved by Abingdon keeper James Foster.
Lee and Nick McCootie both forced good stops from the visiting keeper.
Cinderford eventually took the lead when Lee was fouled inside the box and Dale Evans converted the 30th minute penalty.
Abingdon drew level two minutes into the second half when Sam Collier fired past Ben John.
Cinderford continued to look the likelier side to go on and win the game, with McCootie, Evans and Egan all squandering chances.
Abingdon went close through Collier before fashioning a winner 12 minutes from time.
Ben John's clearance kick rebounded off Collier, who was left to slot into an empty net.
