THE Secretary of State will decide whether 200 new homes are to be built on land at Allaston Road in Lydney.

Earlier this year, planners rejected the application – spearhead by Forest businessman Brian Bennett, under the name Allaston Developments Ltd.

However, the company appealed against this decision.

Up to 200 new homes could be built on land off Driffield Road, Court Road and Allaston Road – a mix of full market and affordable homes, retirement apartments and self-build plots.

Forest MP Mark Harper wrote to the Planning Minister, Brandon Lewis MP, to ask him and the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Eric Pickles MP, to recover the planning appeal for the Allaston Road development in Lydney.
