MOST road cyclists take a break in the autumn and pick up again in the spring.

Not so the hard men of the Audax circuit.

Steve Price and Alistair Willis travelled to Tewkesbury to embark on a 208km (130 miles) Audax ride to Newport and back on a cold, dark November day.

The route passed through the Forest on the return trip to Tewkesbury late in the afternoon.

Alistair peeled off from Kerne Bridge to return home to Lydney to change for the club dinner. He still bagged around 100 miles.

Steve (pictured) carried on to the finish and now plans to ride a 200km Audax per month throughout 2011.
