FRIENDS and family have paid tributes to a 57-year-old Cinderford woman who was found dead at her home last week.

Police found the body of Christine Simonds at her High Street flat at around 3.30pm on December 1.

Concerns were raised to police about her welfare as she hadn’t been seen for a few days.

Police attended her property but there was no answer and as a last resort they forced entry to the property where she was found.

Her nephew Thomas Witts said: “Rest in peace Auntie Christine. “We had some fun times together. Will miss you lots.”

Nicola Davies a friend of Mrs Simonds said she didn’t want it to be true. “I’ve lost a very good friend,” she said.

Vivian Carpenter her landlord said he was shocked to hear of her death.

“I knew that she had been poorly but I thought she was getting better and had

started working at a nursing home,” he said.

“It’s such sad news she was such a nice lady.
