POLICE were called to clear a Forest road last week when a collision  between a car and tractor led to a fuel spill.

Officers closed the B4228 at Barrowell Lane in St Briavels for several hours on Friday (October 28), following a collision between a car and tractor shortly before 11am.

One person was taken to hospital following the incident.

A statement from Gloucestershire Police issued shortly after 1pm said: “The closure, which is expected to remain for a number of hours, has been put into place to allow for recovery of the vehicles and for a fuel spill to be cleared.

“Motorists are asked to please avoid the area and find alternative routes.

“Officers were called to the area shortly before 11am and one person has been taken to hospital as a precaution.”

The road was re-opened later on Friday afternoon.
