Police are appealing for witnesses after a 14-year-old girl was approached in suspicious circumstances in Coleford.

The incident happened close to the crossroads at Five Acres at around 7.45pm on Friday.

A 14-year-old girl was walking a dog close to the Gamekeeper's Inn when a white LDV Sherpa van, driven by a man, stopped next to her and a woman got out.

The woman asked if she could take photos of the girl with a silver digital camera she was carrying. The girl refused and walked off.

The woman is described as white, in her late 30s to early 40s, 5ft 4ins tall, of skinny build and with short, dirty, blonde hair. She was wearing a light-coloured top and blue denim jeans. She did not have a local accent.

The driver is described as a white man.
