Police are appealing for information following a suspicious incident in Newnham at about 4.30pm yesterday (Thursday July 12).

A car pulled up next to a 12-year-old girl at the bus stop by a garage at Elton Corner and a man wound down the window to offer her a lift.

The girl ran off before the car travelled on to the garage.

The man is described as white, in his 30s or 40s, of thin build, with a bald head but hair at the sides and wearing a white or grey shirt. The car is described as a silver hatchback, possibly a Toyota model.

Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident 332 of July 12.
