Motorists are being advised of a temporary road closure on the B4224 at Lea next month to allow essential works to take place. Herefordshire Council has confirmed that a section of the road, around 265 metres north of the A40 junction, will be closed to vehicles on 6 May 2026.

The closure is required to allow pole replacement works to be carried out safely and to reduce the risk of danger to road users while the works are under way. Although the legal order allows for the restriction to remain in place for up to 18 months, the council expects the work to be completed within one day, between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

During the closure, a signed diversion route will be in place via the A40 and A449. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead. Further information is available from Herefordshire Council.
