TRIBUTES have been paid to a 33-year-old man killed in an accident on the A48 near Lydney. A white Ford transit van with a blue rear flat bed body was travelling from Blakeney towards Lydney when it left the road and hit trees shortly after 11.10am on Saturday, August 2. The Blakeney man, named locally as Clint Grindle, who was a passenger in the van, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin and the coroner have been informed. Peter Miltiadou, who runs the fish and chip shop in Blakeney, said: "It's very sad news. "He was a regular customer of ours and he was a very nice lad. Our thoughts are with his family at this hard time. There was another accident very close to that same place about a year ago. Something needs to be done."
