IN response to Alun Williamson's letter about creeping urbanisation in the Forest of Dean, I'd recommend that he, and anyone else with similar concerns, email the Independent Panel on Forestry at [email protected]">[email protected]
The panel was established in March of this year, by the Secretary of State, to advise the Government on the future direction of forestry and woodland policy in England, and anyone interested in forests or woodland is invited to share their views.
This is a real opportunity for individuals and local organisations to influence Government policy on publicly owned forests.
Comments and ideas should reach them before July 31, 2011, and the panel's findings and advice will be presented in a final report in April 2012.
They are visiting the Forest of Dean on Sunday and Monday.
