A BATTLE is looming above Mitcheldean as activists prepare to clash with bailiffs at the Wilderness Centre.

After an eviction order was granted at Gloucester County Court on Tuesday, the group started to put up barricades to keep out the bailiffs while a police helicopter circled overhead.

The group, calling themselves Protect the Wilderness, was due to host a 'Spring Gathering' today and tomorrow. But the county council managed to secure an injunction against the event happening and said the protesters would be breaking the law if they went ahead with it.
