A 40-year-old Newent man who indecently exposed himself and also used threatening or insulting behaviour towards a woman has been banned from drinking alcohol for two months and ordered to do 150 hours of unpaid work for the community.
Alin Potcavaru, of Perry Close, Newent, pleaded guilty at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court to flashing on January 16 in the town with intent to cause alarm or distress and using insulting or abusive words or behaviour on the same date with intent to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
He was placed on a one-year community order with 60-day alcohol abstinence requirement and a rehabilitation activity requirement as well as the unpaid work requirement.
The magistrates placed him on the sex offender register for five years.
