POLICE say they have some 'significant new leads' following BBC Crimewatch's reconstruction of the death of Shaun James in December 2002.

Detective Chief Inspector Steve Porter said categorically: "Shaun's death was no accident. He was murdered."

Until now, Shaun's death was treated as a hit and run - but DCI Porter explained that significant advances in DNA analysis since the original investigation had enabled Gloucestershire Police to carry out a more detailed forensic examination of the remaining evidence as part of a cold case review.
