Lydney Hockey
LYDNEY'S men gained a superb 3-2 win away at top-of-the-table Chippenham in North Division Two.
Newcomer Gavin Moore strengthened the Lydney midfield. Captain Chris Aldridge and Adam Farag (2) fired the goals.
Five second-half goals provided Lydney A with a 5-0 win over Gloucester City C in Hereford & Glos Division One.
Lydney dominated the first-half but were unable to create many goal-scoring chances.
Lydney stretched Gloucester after the break and man of the match Luke Andrew converted two short-corners. The midfielder completed his hat-trick from open play. Veteran Mark Welding added a fourth from another short-corner and Tom Fuller completed the rout.
KATE Adams scored a hat-trick as Lydney Ladies won 4-2 at home to Bath Buccaneers in Premier Two.
Amy Bidddle also found the net as Lydney climbed to fourth in the table.
LYDNEY Ladies II won 2-1 at Bretforton II.
With an early start conditions were icy, providing an extra challenge for both sides.
Captain Rachael Hart set the tone for Lydney with a goal inside five minutes. She linked up well with fellow striker Jess Samuel to create several more chances in front of goal.
It was Samuel who finally threw off her tenacious marker to find the back of the net for the winner.
Lydney's player of the match was Milly Chidley, who attacked every free ball with authority.
LYDNEY Ladies III overcame Stroud II by 3-1 in Severn Division Three.
