Veronica Godfrey's dream cruise turned into a nightmare when her luxury liner was hit by a norovirus outbreak.

The retired accountant, who suffers from diabetes, said she feared for her life but was told she could not be air-lifted off the Boudicca.

The 70-year-old says she spent the whole holiday confined to her cabin and was on a drip - which was hanging from a porthole - for three days.

"I really thought I was going to die," said Veronica, who lives in Drybrook.
