DRYBROOK girl Natasha Hunt says she is 'chuffed to bits' after getting a call up into the England elite squad for the coming international season.

Natasha, nicknamed Mo, is one of nine new faces in Gary Street's elite squad.

Although she has played most of her senior rugby on the wing, the England coaches now want her to play at scrum-half – the position she first filled as a young teenager when starting out at The Mannings.

Natasha (pictured) said: "It's brilliant to be named in the elite squad, especially as I've only just moved to a new club.

"I think our first get together is on November 6 & 7. It's very exciting."

Natasha has already represented England under-20s, England A and the national sevens team.

The England coaches clearly see her as one for the future.

After finishing second in the Women's Rugby World Cup last month, England are rebuilding for the 2014 World Cup.

Head coach Street said: "We are fortunate that our World Cup squad was relatively young.

"However, this squad is all about development and looking to the future. We cannot just think about this season and that is why we are giving players who we think could be major international players in the future a chance now.

"We think it's important to take the opportunity to accelerate their development rather than leaving it for a couple of years, even if they don't make an immediate impact."

England are preparing to defend their RBS Six Nations Grand Slam crown, while England A will also be in action in Spain in the European Trophy.

Both squads will be announced in January.

Natasha, 20, says she wouldn't mind being named in either line-up.

The former Dene Magna pupil added: "Quite a lot has happened recently. I switched from Bath to Bristol, but now I'm playing at Lichfield and really enjoying it.

"I left college and am now working as a PE assistant and rugby specialist at King Edward's School in Birmingham."
