MISS Forest of Dean Amy Brown is hoping her campaign to become Miss Cheltenham can help her to continue raising funds and awareness for good causes.
Amy, who lives in Cinderford and studies in Cheltenham, set off on a massive 21-mile charity walk on Saturday in aid of the Hollie Gazzard Trust.
Amy, accompanied by sister Fran and mother Sonia, set off from The Belfry in Littledean – where she works behind the bar – heading towards Mallard’s Pike before making her way to Lydney.
From there, it was on to Newnham-on-Severn before returning to The Belfry, who also sponsor her campaign.
“I want to continue fund raising and continue to be a role model,” she said.
“There are three main charities for Miss Cheltenham; The Hollie Gazzard Trust, the Pied Piper Appeal and Beauty with a Purpose, which is the main Miss England charity.
“The Holly Gazzard Trust is a fantastic charity and for women especially. We’ve raised £800 so far and Shane Grindle, who is my sponsor, topped it up to £1,000 with a £200 donation.
“I’m so grateful for Shane’s support and the support from everyone else.”
Votes for Amy can be made via text, by sending ’Miss Cheltenham01’ to 63333. Texts cost 50p, which goes to Beauty with a Purpose.
