A CHARITY which provided hot meals for delivery to hundreds of elderly and vulnerable people in the Forest has declared insolvency.
Age Concern Forest of Dean announced in January that its meals-on-wheels service - as well as its kitchens in Cinderford, two charity shops and befriending service - would close this month due to a ‘core funding’ gap of thousands of pounds.
The closure came in to effect on Friday March 13 and chair of trustees Dr Daphne Pearson said the future of the charity - and its assets - was now in the hands of an insolvency practitioner.
