RISING star Megan Jephcote won a gold medal at the Scottish National Indoor Rowing Championships in Edinburgh on Sunday.
This was Megan's third time in the Scottish Championships. She has improved each year, winning bronze and silver on previous appearances.
It's a busy month for the 12-year-old (pictured), who recently left Ross Rowing Club to join Gloucester Rowing Club.
She will compete in the English National Championships in Manchester on January 30, before flying out to Finland five days later to take on the best under-14s in that country in Helsinki.
In between she must fit in school and homework, with training at Club Ginger in Lydney and on the water training with Gloucester RC.
In December, Megan powered to victory in the Welsh Schools' Indoor Championships in Cardiff with a PB. The following day she won another gold in the Welsh National Indoor Championships.
Megan is the first European rower to be invited to the Japanese National Championships in Tokyo in July.
She only took up rowing a couple of years ago, but is the current national indoor rowing champion for her age group and a GB indoor rowing ambassador.
