FORMER MP for the Forest of Dean Mark Harper has been awarded a life peerage, it was announced today.

The long-serving Conservative, who represented the constituency for 19 years, was named in outgoing Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s Resignation Honours list, approved by The King.
Mr Harper, a former Transport Secretary and government Chief Whip, will now take a seat in the House of Lords.
