A 60-year-old man was taken to hospital today, Friday March 23, after a head-on collision on the A48 near Newnham-on-Severn this morning.

The man was driving a Vauxhall Corsa and collided with a Kia Sorento at around 11am, leaving him in ’a serious condition’.

He was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol while the other diver suffered minor injuries.

Police officers are appealing for information on the incident and the road remains closed while a collision investigation continues.

Police believe other vehicles may have been involved in the collision and are urging those motorists or any other witnesses to come forward.
