POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man repeatedly threatened to stab two people in a Forest town last month.

The man followed two others on foot through Cinderford town centre on the evening of Sunday, July 31.

He repeatedly threatened to stab them with a knife.

He was described as being a white man, 5ft 9in in height, and wearing a black jacket and grey jeans.

The incident reportedly took place between 10pm and 11pm.

After it was reported to the police, a man in his 40s from the Forest was arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed weapon.

He has since been released under investigation “pending further enquiries”.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious on Cinderford High Street at the time.
