LYDNEY Town lost 2-1 at home to Trowbridge Town in the first round of the Hellenic Challenge Supplementary Cup on Tuesday night.
Croydon put the visitors ahead in the sixth minute, then Gittens converted a penalty three minutes before the interval.
Stuart Liddington pulled one back two minutes into the second-half, but Lydney were unable to find an equaliser.
