A 34 year-old Lydney man found guilty by magistrates of assaulting another man causing him actual bodily harm has launched an appeal against his conviction.
At Gloucester Crown Court Casey Bowen’s appeal hearing was set down for hearing by an appeal panel of judge and magistrates on September 29.
Steve Young, representing Mr Bowen, said “It is partly a factual issue about what actually happened. He has been given positive advice to appeal.”
There would be two witnesses called at the appeal, which will be held at Cirencester Courthouse.
Mr Young said the hearing would last about half a day.
Mr Bowen, of Edwin Jones Way, Lydney, had denied the assault in Lydney between June 17-June 2020 causing actual bodily harm but was convicted at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on December 12 last year.
