DEVELOPER Brian Bennett wants to create a new 'Primrose Village' on the outskirts of Lydney by building 200 homes.

The Allaston Road development is set to include 30 affordable homes for young people, 40 homes for the retired and 25 self-build plots on a 30-acre site.

Mr Bennett said: "We've listened to the views of local residents and while we appreciate it's a large development, it's nowhere as big as it could have been if the land was owned by a national developer who would seek to fill the whole 35-acre site with housing."
