A WOMAN was sexually assaulted near Lydney Boating Lake on Saturday night. Police are appealing for information about the attack, which happened at around 11pm on July 26. The victim had walked past Lydney Church when she became aware of someone behind her. She had walked across the Church car park, along Church Road, over the train track, under the footbridge and then down to the lakeside path, where she is believed to have been attacked. The offender is believed to have been wearing dark clothing but no other description is available.
