A JOINT bid to save the Wilderness Centre as an educational centre has been unsuccessful. Local businessman, Neill Ricketts, had teamed up with the Wilderness Project and submitted a bid for the former environmental education centre last week. Neill Ricketts said: "I believe our bid has failed. "I was quite shocked our bid didn't win. We had put together a very good bid and all the people I had shown it too thought it was spectacular. "I understand the process the County Council has gone through to reach this decision I just hope they have given the bids full consideration."
