A CHARGE of maladministration has been submitted to the Forest of Dean District Council over its handling of the Sainsbury's planning application at Lydney.

Five councillors, from all political parties, have submitted the complaint to the authority after members of the planning committee overturned their decision to approve the retail and housing scheme on land to the east of Lydney.

Councillors James Bevan, Gethyn Davies, Judy Davis, Gabriella Kirkpatrick and Paul McMahon voiced their concerns after the planning committee overturned its consent for the Sainsbury's / Hitchins application granted in October, at the November meeting.
