I AM one district councillor that's angry, even at the thought of raising the car park charges to 40p for two hours.

These car parks are not making any money, so why ever does the Cabinet think that the extra charge will make any more?

Can't they see that businesses are not happy at the way they are being treated, by those that live of the businesses and their staff taxes. Because that is what district councillors do, me included. Only I don't try to close them down. I would like to see more shops opening not closing.

Then there is the cheek of starting to pay more money for positions such as 'champions' and paying all chairmen. This is on top of cutting jobs at our council. Jobs we do need. Wanting our council to move to Gloucester. Keeping only the bottom part.

Whatever happened to doing the job for love, not the money?

District councillors should take responsibility for themselves, if they need extra money, go back to work.

I do realise that a minimum amount should be paid to cover the telephone and petrol for the car. I never claim any extra for the travel allowance that so many claim for, this can be up to £2,000.

Yes a little different if you live so far away from the offices.

I am afraid all parties are the same.

So all of you that go to the food banks, and pensioners, unemployed etc who can't afford to pay to park your car. And those people in business who are losing out because of the charges, please spare a thought for the district councillors who obviously need the money more than you all do, or so they seem to think.

I work for my money, and there is the pension being now an OAP, but then I don't want to be beholden to anyone else.

If some district councillors carry on like this there will be nothing left for anyone else.
