Forest Barn Holidays Ltd has applied for a new premises licence for Sutton Baynham Farm, Littledean (GL14 2TU). The proposal includes retail sale of alcohol for on and off-site consumption from 8am to 11pm daily, and late-night refreshments until 11:30 p.m. Representations must be submitted in writing by February 5, 2026, to Forest of Dean District Council Licensing. Road and footpath closures announced across Forest of Dean

Motorists and pedestrians in the Forest of Dean are being advised to plan ahead as Gloucestershire County Council announces a series of temporary road and footpath closures starting later this month.

The first closure will affect the C25 between Branches Road and Moorhen Lane in Awre Parish. This section will be shut for signal and telecommunication maintenance from 11.55pm on January 21 until 5:45am on January 22. No pedestrian or emergency access will be permitted during this period, and drivers should follow signed alternative routes.

Further disruption is expected on the 400017 road from Birch Hill Road to Hilgay Road in St Briavels Parish, where BT Openreach will carry out works. This road will be closed from January 19 until February 16, with emergency and pedestrian access maintained throughout.

Several footpaths will also be affected. Public Footpaths RWD 50 and FLY 96, located in West Dean Parish and Lydney Town, will close from February 1 for up to six months due to piling works. Pedestrian access will not be maintained for safety reasons, though emergency services will have access.

In English Bicknor Parish, tree felling operations will lead to intermittent closures of Public Footpaths REB 2 and REB 38 between February 2 and February 20. Clear signage will indicate when paths are closed, and alternative routes will be provided.

Road users should also note upcoming closures for drainage and utility works. Underhill (400016) in Hewelsfield and Brockweir Parish will be closed from February 2 to February 4, while Bromley Road (400058) in West Dean Parish will shut between February 3 and February 5 for Severn Trent Water works. Both closures will allow emergency access and escorted pedestrian access.

Additional works include a short closure of the C25 near St Andrews Church in Awre Parish on February 5 and 6, and Union Road in Coleford Town will close for tree cutting on February 3 between 9am and 4pm
