PARKEND beat Penallt & Redbrook by 65 runs after scoring 227-7 on a wicket that offered little bounce.

Tom Tremlett fell lbw to Gareth Jones for one, but Jim Crawley and Fran Gabaldoni took the score past 50 before Gabaldoni was bowled by Jacques for 15.

Andy Taylor (15) played the anchor role as Crawley rode his luck to score 79 and Dan James smashed a rapid 41. Gareth Jones bagged 4-81 and Lyndon Jacques 2-31.

Penallt lost early wickets and were soon in trouble.

Keith Powles (41) and Simon Owens (18) brought them back into the game but they were always behind the run rate. They lost their last wicket with the score on 162.

Dave Morris (3-24) and Aaron Parsons (3-34) were the main wicket takers.

Newent have established a second pitch at their Three Ashes ground and visiting Yorkley took a liking to it on its first use in men's cricket. In-form Liam Hurcombe hit 134 and Andrew Rowles 79 as they flogged the Newent III bowling to all parts for a total of 333-5. Sam Wallace was the best of the home bowlers with 2-56.

The Newent openers started brightly with a century opening stand between Tom Devries (66) and Kane Mulakus (32).

The rest of the batting fell away and the innings ended with Newent III well short on 169-9. Tom Rudd took 3-3 and Liam Hurcombe 2-38.

Charlton Kings III beat Bream by two wickets with two balls to spare.

Put into bat, Bream scored 178-9 with 54 from Chris Farr and 40 from Dan Hurcombe-Meek.

Charlton Kings needed 12 to win off the last over and young Ben Ellis struck a tremendous six over mid-off.

Veteran spinner Arthur Haines took three wickets in his second four over spell and finished with 3-27.

Huntley II suffered a tough day against Twyning.

Twyning scored 304-5 then bowled out Huntley for 49 inside 16 overs.
